How do I get an event refund?

Overview:
This article outlines the two-step process for requesting a refund when registered through the Tournkey platform. Please note that Tournkey is the technology provider that powers event registration. All refund policies and decisions are determined by the event organizer.


Stage 1: Requesting a Refund Directly from the Event

  1. Review the Event's Refund Policy
    Before submitting any refund request, carefully review the refund policy listed on the event's registration page or in your confirmation email. Each event sets its own terms, including deadlines and conditions for refunds.

  2. Contact the Event Organizer
    If you are within the parameters of the event’s refund policy, contact the event organizer directly to initiate the refund. This can typically be done through:

    • The contact details listed on the event page

    • The confirmation email you received after registration

    • The support or contact section within your Tournkey dashboard

  3. Await Confirmation
    The event organizer will process your refund request in accordance with their policy. You should receive a follow-up confirming approval, denial, or next steps.


Stage 2: If You Believe a Refund Was Denied in Error

If you believe your refund should have been processed based on the published event policy but it was not, follow these steps:

  1. Gather Documentation
    Prepare relevant documents, such as:

    • Proof of payment

    • The refund policy that was active at the time of registration

    • Any communication with the event organizer

  2. Submit a Review Request to Tournkey
    While Tournkey does not determine or issue refunds, we can review the situation to ensure the organizer is upholding the published policy.

    Create a Ticket with the following details:

    • Your full name

    • Event name and registration ID

    • Summary of your situation and why you believe the refund should have been granted

    • Any supporting documentation

  3. Resolution
    Tournkey will review the materials and, if necessary, contact the event organizer for clarification. If there has been a clear breach of policy, we will support resolving the situation appropriately.
